It’s finally over! After months of breathless speculation and excitement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot in St. George’s Chapel. It was a gorgeous and romantic ceremony broadcast to millions of people around the world. Today, Kensington Palace has released three official photos celebrating the marriage of the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the official entry of Meghan Markle into the Royal Family.
Photographer Alexi Lubormirski took these pictures at Windsor Castle just after Harry and Meghan’s carriage procession. Lubormirski is the protégé of renowned photographer Mario Testino, who photographed Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. When they released the images, Kensington Palace also offered gratitude to all the royal couple’s guests and spectators:
The Duke and Duchess would like to thank everyone who took part in the celebrations of their wedding. They feel so lucky to have been able to share their day with all those gathered in Windsor and those who watched on television across the UK, Commonwealth, and around the world.
The Duke and Duchess are probably glad that it’s all over and ready embark on their honeymoon, but they’ve delayed their departure to go back to work: they will attend the Buckingham Palace garden party on Tuesday celebrating the Prince of Wales’ 70th birthday in their first official engagement as husband and wife. It should come as no surprise that these two will put royal duty first; Harry and Meghan are committed philanthropists that have not spent years working on charitable causes.
We wish the Duke and Duchess the best as husband and wife. Don’t work too hard guys! Take a look at the official wedding photos:
