Next week, March 9, is National Meatball Day. Sounds like a good excuse to go out for Italian—or Olive Garden if you prefer your platter of meatballs “Family Size.” If that’s not good enough for you, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse will offer a $100 meatball for one day only according to the New York Daily News.
Now for most of us, meatballs are a pretty simple home-style meal. Not for Davio’s. What goes in a meatball that’s worth one hundred bucks? Wagyu beef and winter truffles stuffed with truffle caciocavallo cheese and foie gras, topped with creamy shallot and champagne sauce, and served with a glass of 2012 Prunotto Barollo. Alright, sounds tasty, but is it worth a full $100?
If you think it is, Davio’s is asking for reservations at least 24 hours prior to March 9.
