#23 – Chow Chow – $2,500 on average

This medium-sized ball of fur has one distinctive feature no other dog has – it has a blue tongue. This dog breed originates from China where it is known as Songshi Quan, which means Puffy Lion Dog. Indeed, this breed does look like a little lion! Chow Chows have a sturdy body constitution and a thick, luxurious coat of fur.

This breed is said to be one of the most aggressive dog breeds which dislikes strangers, but it’s a common misconception. Chow Chows do dislike strangers, but they won’t be aggressive towards them, they will just pretend that you don’t exist. This breed is only fond of the family that owns them and they are particularly affectionate towards children. One great thing about this breed is that they can live in an apartment and that they don’t need regular exercise.
