#20 – Light peak technology
In-spite of the reality that optical cables transmit data fast as comparison to copper wire, wire is still the primary medium for communication on computer chips, & between PC’s and all devices through USB cables. But Intel hopes to change all that soon with their new Light Peak connection system.
Intel announced the technology they are working on about 10Gbps data transfer speed. Call it Super Sonic Speed? Not now, as this technology is capable of the 100Gb per second speed limit. And at the lowest speed, Intel’s Light Peak would enable you to transfer a full length Blu-ray film with less then 30 seconds!
