The most expensive privately owned island in the world is Lanai Island which belongs to the state of Hawaii. This huge island is also known by the name “Pineapple Island” because in the island’s past it served as a pineapple plantation.

Lanai Island was purchased by the billionaire CEO of Oracle Company, Larry Ellison for $600 Million. Larry plans to invest $500 Million to rejuvenate the agricultural potential of this island.
