#6 – Narwhal

The narwhal, or narwhale, is like a sea unicorn. It has a large ‘tusk’ that protrudes outwards from a canine tooth. The tusk grows throughout a male’s life and can reach anywhere from 4 feet 11 inches (1.5 meter) to 10 feet 2 inches (3.1 meters). The tusk has millions of nerve endings which help the narwhal better sense its surroundings.

They can be found living year-round in the Arctic waters around Russia, Canada, and Greenland.
