The official name of Guinea-Bissau is the Republic of Guinea-Bissau. The area of this West African country is 36,125 kmwith an overall population of 1,704,000 people. The capital city of Guinea-Bissau is called Bissau.

Guinea-Bissau sadly has one of the lowest GDP’s in the world. The GDP of Guinea-Bissau is only $613. Two thirds of Guinea-Bissau’s population lives below the poverty line. Long periods of political instability led this country to become one of the poorest countries in the world.
