25 Poorest Countries In The World

#24 – Afghanistan

The official name of the country Afghanistan is the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Afghanistan is a landlocked country located within South Asia and Central Asia. Afghanistan has a territory of 652,000 km2 which makes it the 41st largest country in the world. There are 32,500,000 people living in this country and the capital city of this Asian country is Kabul.

Sadly, this country is so poor that it belongs on this list and on United Nation’s list of least developed countries. The GDP per capita of Afghanistan is only $1,900 and about 42% of Afghanistan’s population lives with earnings of less than $1 per day. The reasons for this country being so poor are the wars that devastated it and a lack of external investments within the country.
