16. The Ice Hotel, Sweden
As this list shows, Sweden’s hotel game is undoubtedly strong. To have three unique hotels make this list is definitely no mean feat and as the Ice Hotel shows, the people of Sweden surely love some very strange hotels. Located in the small village of Jukkasjarvi in northern Sweden just on the banks of the Torne River, the Ice Hotel is the world’s first hotel built entirely of ice blocks and snow from its walls to the beds that you’ll be sleeping on.
Despite having been in existence since 1990, owners come up with new design and plan to create a brand new hotel every year. So you’re likely to find a brand new hotel at the same place you visited last year if you’re lucky to visit again this year. Isn’t that interesting?
