#22 – Solomon Islands

The Solomon Islands is located in Oceania, north of the Australian continent. This country is made of six bigger islands and more than 900 smaller islands. Solomon Islands have a territory of 28,400 km2 which makes it the 142nd largest country in the world. It is estimated that Solomon Islands are inhabited by 523,000 people. The capital city of this island country is called Honiara.

Solomon Islands is a very poor country considering the fact that its per capita GDP is only $600. Most of the people who live in Solomon Islands are employed in the fishing and subsistence industries.
